Fall Pictures

My friend, Autumn, took our fall pictures again this year.  As always, she did a great job!  Lola was enjoying being her cute, sassy and photogenic self and Bode was his usual - tough to make smile ... while looking at the camera - self.  But we were able to get a few with him looking very cute and stylish!  :)

Happy Birthday Lola!

My sweet Lola turned 4 years old today!  We let her pick where she wanted to go for lunch - Dairy Queen (more for the cookie dough blizzard than the actual food) and her and I went to get our first mother / daughter pedicure!  She thought she was pretty fancy!

The birthday festivites started last week when she took cupcakes to her friends at Grandma Paula's.  She picked zebra cupcakes with hot pink icing and hot pink sprinkles.

She had her first party at Brian's parents with his side of the family with a Hello Kitty theme.

And some pictures from today, on her actual birthday.

And modeling her new leotard before dance

My birthday party for the Korneman side will be this Saturday, so more to come!

World Series, Baby!!

Loving that the Cardinals are in the World Series again!  The last time they won it was the year my little man was born!  :)

Fall Fun!

One of my favorite things to do in the fall is go to the Pumpkin Patch!  We've been a few times this year and look forward to going again.  The "pillow" is our favorite!  It's like a giant trampoline.  As soon as we get there, the kids start begging for the pillow (and to be honest.... I love it too!)

First Chicago Bears Game!

I wouldn't say that I'm a die hard Bears fan, but do LOVE football and enjoy watching our "local" team.  However... I do love any excuse to buy the kids new clothes!

I have high expectations for Bode's future.  Any name we picked had to go well with "Heisman Trophy Winner.... ".  But so far, I have my doubts.  He seems way too interested in tractors, than sports and cries everytime he gets hurt and comes running for a kiss.  I'm guessing that will be frowned upon by the time he gets to high school.  However, I was very happy to see him getting out his football today and showing off his solid throwing arm.  That's my boy!

Lola's First Day of Pre-School!

Lola's first day of Pre-School got off to a little rocky start.  She came down with a fever the day before her first day!  :(  Luckily, it never got as high as it usually does (105+) and we were able to sneak Tylenol in her Sprite (shhhh....).  In between doses she acted fine, so we went ahead and sent her (shhhh... again... but seriously, how is she expected to maintain her 4.0 if she skips the first day of school!  ;)

On the first day, we (Brian, Brian's mom and myself) got to go with her (my mom came a little bit later with another one of her babysitting kids) to show her around and play.  I didn't consider this day the first day, so I wasn't prepared for pics, however apparently I was the outcast since every other parent had their camera and even some following their kids around with video cameras (oops).  Thank goodness for camera phones.

This was her 'offical' first day - but also the day she had her fever.

So far, she is really enjoying it and is already learning new things and coming home singing new songs!

Bode's 2nd Birthday!

Little Bode celebrated his second birthday last week.  Lola is teaching him all kinds of things, so he's quite smart for a 2 year old.... and VERY ORNERY!!!

A few recent funnies... (there are funnies everyday from him!)

There definitely was a dirty diaper stench coming from his little buns, so we got ready to change him.  I then realized it was a doozy and we would need to head upstairs for the washcloths.  I awkwardly picked him up so I wouldn't get the carpet messy and he says (very concerned)... "what you doing with me mommy?"

This morning we were sitting on the floor playing and he kept saying he wanted 'bite'.  I kept saying "a bite of what?"  He just kept repeating... "I want bite".  Clearly I didn't know what bite he wanted.  He let out a loud sigh and said "come here, I show you".  And he took my hand and led me to the can of SPRITE sitting on the counter.  :)

I really wanted a Superman birthday party, but decided to give him what he wanted and went with tractors.

Helping me make his cupcakes to take to Grandma Paula's (big fan of icing!)

This was the morning of his party when we were making more icing for his cake.  This time he didn't wait for it to become icing... just started in with the sugar.

He just woke up from his nap so he was a little shy

Waiting patiently for Uncle Darren to open his new digger

The special birthday surprise was that he got to ride on Kris' digger that he brought up!
