Bode's Newborn Pictures

A good friend of ours took Bode's newborn pictures and we got them back this week.  We were very happy with how they turned out.  I've been trying to find a picture to compare how much Bode and Lola look alike at this stage.  Unfortunately Lola had her eyes open during her newborn pics and Bode's were closed so I still don't have a perfect match, but I'm still looking!

And sweet Lola!

Apple and Pork Festival

Lola, Bode and I went to Clinton's famous Apple and Pork Festival this weekend.  Bode slept the whole time and Lola was a great little girl.  She loves all of the food!  Lola had her second gingerbread cookie and I had my 31st! (one each year since I was 9 months old!)  :)  She ate her cookie and then stole mine to lick the icing off!  The most exciting part of her day was the pony rides!

Bode is 1 month old!

What a quick month this has been!  Bode is such a sweet little guy and is so much fun to have around.  Lola absolutely LOVES her little brother and never can get enough of him.  Bode is spending a lot more time awake and showing off his dark blue eyes.  He loves looking around at different things, especially things with lights.  He has started to grab onto different things (hair, necklaces, clothes, little toys, etc.).  One time I tried to put the pacifier in his mouth and he grabbed a hold of it and yanked it out of his mouth (might have been a fluke, but it was funny).  :)  After getting a slow start to gaining weight, I can tell those days are behind us and that he is definitely growing!

Fall Fun!

This week, Lola, Bode and I had a playdate with our friends - Heidi and Parker.  We went to Rader Farm for some Fall Fun.  It's a local family farm that has lots of fall activities for kids.  We all had a lot of fun and Lola and I decided to bring Brian back soon for a family trip to buy our pumpkins.

Lola's favorite activity was the "Little Village" which was a miniature house, post office and market complete with little toys to play with.

Lola and Parker outside of the market.

Day at the Airport - Part 2

Here are a few other pictures of us at the Airport from when we went last weekend:

The pilot standing at this plane made us do the "thumbs up" ... wasn't my idea!  :)

Church

When we first started taking Lola to the nursery on Sunday mornings, she wasn't quite on board, but lately she has done so much better and really enjoys going.  Yesterday morning, she woke up saying "Church?!"

She's still technically in the nursery, but the class she's in now is getting her ready for the 2's/3's church which is when it gets more official.

On Sunday, she walked out of the room and was carrying her first little Sunday School craft.  I know this is probably a silly thing to be excited about, but it was just so stinking cute watching her carry her little baggy.  The lesson was when Jesus feeds the 5,000 and in her bag was little cutouts of fish and bread.

(Her smile is a little scary, but I asked her to say "cheese" and this is what I got!)  :)

Bode's First Bath

Bode's little belly button thing finally fell off, so we were able to give him his first real bath.  Unfortunately we did it right before it was time for him to eat, so he wasn't really feeling it.  Maybe next time!

Day at the Airport

I'm not very good at taking the initiative to find out what fun things there are to do around town, but luckily our good friends are, so they invite us to attend with them.  This past weekend, we went to "Day at the Airport".  I wasn't sure exactly what to expect, but it was a really fun couple of hours and it was beautiful weather, so a great day to be outside.  Bode was good and just slept the whole time.

Lola got her picture taken in several different airplane cockpits.  I think she might have been a smidgen too young to fully understand it, but she kept saying "more more" after each plane, so she obviously enjoyed it!

My camera battery ran out near the beginning, so I may have more to add once our friend sends me her pics.

These were just the model planes - our friend has the pictures with the real planes.   (She is wearing Brian's sunglasses).  :)

While there, I entered a drawing to win a balloon airplane.  Nothing I truly expected to win, but just passing the time while we waited in line.  Well.... we are now the owners of this really fancy airplane, which I was told took 2 guys 5+ hours to create.  Lola was very excited!

More Bode Pics

So... Mr. Bode doesn't do much yet, so all of my pictures are just going to be him laying around in different outfits!  :)

New Pics

Our little Bode is about two and a half weeks old now. He is such a good little guy! Don't get me wrong, I love Lola like crazy, but she was a HIGH MAINTENANCE baby. Bode seems so easy going and relaxed. He'll actually take good naps (Lola took 15 minute naps) and he is pretty content to hang out while wide awake while I'm fixing lunch, getting ready or doing other things (Lola would cry the second you put her down and wouldn't stop until you picked her up). But again... she is my Lola and regardless of her continued high maintenance, I do love her! ;)

The only minor issue we've had with Bode is getting him to gain weight. He lost the usual few ounces while we were in the hospital, before we were discharged; but then he has not been able to gain any of it back. So the last week has been a crazy week of nursing, pumping, nursing, pumping just trying to increase my production and making sure he's getting enough. We went back on Friday for a weight check and he is within 2 ounces of his birth weight, so the doctor was very pleased! We go back next week for another weight check.

This was one of the trips to the doctor. Lola thought that he needed her bear and doll with him.
